For the Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • Lime juice
  • Olive oil
  • Hot sauce
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Paprika

For the Tostadas

  • Tostada shells
  • Avocado, chopped or sliced
  • Tomato, diced
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • Shredded cheese

For the Spicy Crema

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Hot sauce
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Chili powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-size cubes.
  3. Toss the chicken with lime juice, olive oil, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, and paprika.
  4. Spread the chicken in a baking dish or on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring or turning the chicken about halfway through. Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F in the center.
  6. Place the cooked chicken over tostada shells.
  7. Top with avocado, tomato, lettuce, and shredded cheese.
  8. Drizzle with the spicy crema and serve.

Spicy Crema

  1. Combine the Greek yogurt with garlic, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, and chili powder.
  2. Warm gently on the stove for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly. Do not let it boil, or the yogurt may separate. You can also microwave it for about 20–30 seconds, stirring halfway through.
  3. Drizzle over the tostadas.

Budget tip: Ready-made tostada shells are inexpensive—a large package is usually around a dollar or two at Aldi.
